How to stop procrastination



For nothing can stop us from the outside if it has no origin from the inside of us.

Many a times we plan casually to effect some changes in our lives, yet we let go as if it is of no real importance any more. We might have casually plan to take some few minutes’ walk in our neighborhood
during the weekend but when the weekend comes we would have either piled up some other activities that would take its place, or we wake up so late because this is the only day that we would have to have a long good night rest. Or we might even give so other excuses for not waking up so early.


We give excuses for not having either time, or space or money or resource, or whatever might be the reason for not taking action. We even find justification for our delays, by looking at some other people too that have not started like us. But one thing that intrigues me most is how we put aside for latter important issues concerning our own lives. We don’t bother to have that private time with that person who we are supposed to be busy with; instead we are busy all day with people and neglect our own selves. The most important person you should be busy with is ourselves, yourself. Or to put it rightly, we have neglected our positive emotions, our feelings, our thoughts about ourselves. But had only give in to the negative emotions, thoughts, and feelings about ourselves.

We have always been attracted by what people say about us and most of the time, what people say about us usually brings up negative emotions, thoughts, and feelings about us. And so easily we dwell on these emotions and start feeling so sad or so angry, or so worried or so anxious. We now begin to see ourselves as been slightly overweight or not intelligent enough or not lucky enough, or any other negativity that may have cropped up in our minds and we begin to see some of these a reality in our lives. Let’s take for instance, someone that is slightly overweight and has always been promising “I want to do some weight loss exercises or to go on some dieting, but keep postponing this activity or these exercises. He or she has absorbed so much negativity about his or her own weight, like “I am too over weight, I am fat, I’m obese, I’m not good looking, I should do something about my weight, what I eat; I eat too much of this and that. So this person has absorbed so much of these negativism and that is what is drowning the energy of doing something about it. And even if the person starts doing the weight loss exercises he or she drops it sooner before having effect on his or her body.

So you need to shift the radar light to focus on the positive emotions about yourself. You need to realize that this is where the seat of power to take positive actions that are going to affect your life is coming from; this is what you can use to make a lasting impact in your life. If you make decision from these positive emotions, you’ll begin to see the effect, if not sooner but within a little while or a long while, you’ll begin to see the result because it will now become a habitual thing for you to do with an effortless use.

You do not need to wait for the approval or the consent of other people, all you need is that you feel good, you feel really really good about yourself right now and you just want to take some more steps that will make you to feel good for a very long time. And that is why you intend to take that action that you want to take. So, each time you make important decision about your life that are based on positive emotions, thoughts and feelings that you have about yourself. It tends to have a much longer impact in your life.

When you go for weight loss exercises or you go improve your skills or probably develop your talents and all these are coming from the positive side of your feelings, thoughts and emotions about what you already want to become; that is you want to become somebody that has gained a new skill and you start having those good feelings of what you want to be in the present, you begin to develop the emotions, the feelings, the thoughts about what you want to become and this will attract all the possibilities of making this a reality in your life.

So, no matter how important or little that something that you want to do for yourself or for others, you need to have a positive attitude towards achieving it that is you start having emotions, that feeling, and that thoughts about the outcome of what you want to achieve.

The more you tune up to the positive emotions, thoughts, and feelings about yourself the more you are tuned in to the realization of most things that you want to do in your life.
